Monsoon Romance Contest: The Winners

iDiva's Monsoon Romance Contest closed on July 1, 2011 at midnight and we bet you guys are waiting with fingers crossed for the results to be announced. That's why we spent all morning going through the wonderful love tips to pick the lucky 15. Trust us, it was a tough call. But here are the 15 lucky winners in no particular order. (P.S. We've added their love tips too, so you'll know why we picked them.)

Pearl Roy
Today most couples are working and have busy schedules. So to keep the romance alive utilise your lunch, tea breaks or free minutes in office and SMS each other flirty, naughty, romantic or even filmy lines. Mind you not those forwarded ones but personalised (unleash your creativity). A great way to zing up your mood at work.

Vinita Rk
While we all admittedly love flowers and candies, it is a sure shot winner to surprise your guy with an occasional red rose and a surprise candle-lit lunch/dinner to keep the spark on, always!

Sonm Sharma
For the last 30 years we've always enjoyed bathing together in the heavy rain; then hot tea with paneer pakoras and romantic cherished moments. So always enjoy and make the rains romantic with your love and romance.

Shreya Agarwal
Have a rainy day out, and go unconventional! Go trekking together, have ice creams instead of oily pakodas (yes, ice creams are a yes yes for any weather!), shop in the rains (yup, again! do we mind, ladies??? especially with him holding your bags and umbrellas for you while you shop; there can be no better way for you to fall in love with him all over again). Go for a couple spa (couple body massage followed by a shower together), and if you can't travel much, just visit the chowpatty and have garam garam butta there!!! :)

Ritika Mahendru
I just got married to the love of my life. And to keep that love burning between us, sometimes, I slip a small love note in his wallet before he leaves for office (as a surprise), which he just loves to read! He says it makes his day! And I just love it!!

Namta Gupta
Take the guy out for a spa session and get him pampered! The next would be to gift him a day out with his friends and cricket. But the best would be to stand with him near the sea shore under an umbrella walking barefoot hand in hand...while rain drops patter on our little umbrella. I think that is the best thing in the world and most romantic too.

Kavita Machiah Cariappa
I sometimes leave a trail leading to the bedroom as he walks in the door after a long day at work - a note here, a discarded piece of clothing there, an aphrodisiac, a suggestion. I leave love notes and romantic treats in unusual places like the steering wheel of the car, in his sunglasses case, on the laptop keypad.

Sheetal C
PDAs. Not necessarily the in your face kind, but a small touch here, a loving stroke there, holding a tender gaze at most unexpected moments keep the connection electric.

Capril Arora
*Monsoon time, Love is in the drizzles* Go get drenched in the rain! Only the two of you! Even if you are not, you'll fall in love. (A kiss can make it more memorable.) Happy lovely monsoon!

Akash Ganga
When in doubt, it's always best to pour your heart out to your better half. That is what I do. Most of the time, I let him know what's going on in my mind. He is the one with oodles of patience and the calmness of an ocean. He judges the situation logically and advises what's best for me. And almost everytime he is right. I have lots of confidence in my husband and that's what is most important in a relationship. Confidence in each other is the key to happiness.

Meena Chhichhia
Rose petals increase the romance of any intimate situation. This classic romantic gesture is a simple, but unforgettable one.
You may put rose petals in briefcases, purses, or in a book your sweetheart is reading. Present your partner with 10 red roses and 2 white roses. Write in the card something along the lines of "You will never be alone."

Nidhi Gupta

I believe for a successful relationship you must first be friends with your partner. Try and know him as a person - what he thinks, his needs, his wants - before overburdening your spouse with all your expectations. When an effort is genuine, it gets reciprocated for sure :) After all, a relationship is not about "ME" or "YOU". It's about "US", isn't it??

Namrata Chandak Somani
Communication and understanding are the key to success in love. If they feel you understand them they will begin to understand you. A love letter is a way to express your feelings directly from heart. Love letters tell him/ her how much you love him/her. Love letters are written in such a language that touches the heart of him/her by expressing the condition of heart. You may write either on a beautiful paper or send an email to express your feelings. Sending love letters is a great idea to impress your loved one to whom you want to express your feelings.

Archana Natarajan

I am in a long distance relationship and it's difficult to maintain, so I keep surprising him by sending love letters by post rather than mailing him because it's very exciting and he loves each one of them. Once, on his birthday I surprised him by landing up in front of him, calling myself as a parcel that I sent.

Vandana Goel

Switch off all the lights and tell him that there's no electricity. When it's chilly outside with the rains, gulp your favorite ice cream in the dark sharing with one spoon. Send him to bring some more from the refrigerator only for him to discover that the electricity is there; see the romance flowing in...

The above winners of iDiva's Monsoon Romance Contest have won Mills & Boon - Romance on the Go travel packs (a set of three romance novels and a manicure kit). Congratulations to all of you! We hope you enjoy your gifts :)
