Britney Jean Spears was born on Dec 2, 1981. She is an American singer and entertainer. Her career started at an early age. She was only eight when she started performing in dance revues and singing in her local church. From there she went on to participated in New York City's Professional Performing Arts School. She remained at the performing arts school for a few years and entered in the the national talent search Star Search. She won top place in the competion , but did not win first place. At age 11 she then landed a part in Disneys Mickey Mouse Club. When the show ended she returned to her hometown only to record a demo. She submitted the demo and signed a recording contract with Jive Records. She immediately began a tour with American Teen Magazines and became the opening act for Backstreet Boys and Nsync. This marked a milestone in her upcoming career. She went on to sell 83 million records worldwide. Her credits include mutiple plantinum albums, record breaking tours, and guest appearances in television and film. She is one of the worlds best selling musical artists. In the US Spears is the best selling female artist of the decade and the fifth best selling artist of the decade overall. She has had her ups and downs, but this beauty and rare talent still has much to offer to her fans and to the world. Her accomplishments and acollades are endless and should be well rewarded.
